Cannon Beach Photographer – Jaime Kae Hazen’s Rock the Dress Photo Shoot

When Chandra approached me about doing a beach photo shoot with a beautiful flowing dress to celebrate her birthday I was totally stoked! It’s refreshing to see someone excited to celebrate something all their own. All to often women hide behind the camera, avoid spending money on themselves, and don’t enjoy looking at their photos without picking everything apart. Don’t think for a moment that being confident and excited to be who you are is the same as being vain. It’s so not the same!

When Chandra came in to view her images yesterday she was so nervous and afraid of how she’d look in her images, and wouldn’t you know it she was absolutely thrilled with how they came out!

This is the perfect kind of session you can incorporate for high school senior girls, bridal sessions after the wedding, glamour makeovers or just for you anytime you like!

Check out this beautiful wall arrangement from Chandra’s session that can be ordered in canvas, metal or wood prints. Worried about what people might think about you putting art of yourself on the wall? Why??? That says more about them and their insecurities than it does about you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Choose to be happy and confident, that’s what matters!

Portland Maternity Photos

Exist in photos for yourself, for your family, and the generations that walk this earth after you.

My goal is not to change the way someone looks so they can be confident, it’s to give them an opportunity to feel confident from the inside out. When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good it shows on the outside. Love who you are and celebrate it!

This is a look at an in-studio maternity session that includes professional hair and makeup and wardrobe styling. I work with my clients to dream up the look they want for their photo shoot and provide resources, tips, and suggestions to make it become a reality.

Mrs. “R” wanted to surprise her husband for their 10 year anniversary with a themed boudoir session. We shot her session on their ranch and incorporated her husband’s horse that’s very special to him. Couple that with gorgeous golden hour light at sunset and magic happened!

What groom wouldn’t love gorgeous sexy photos of his bride? Book your hotel, studio, or outdoor boudoir session by yourself, or with your bridesmaids for a girls day out complete with professional hair makeup, champagne, mimosas and sweet treats.

I think when most people hear the word “Boudoir” they automatically think big hair, Victoria’s secret bombshell type shoot. Honestly, I like to refer to my “boudoir” sessions as intimate portraiture sessions because I think what we will capture is different than what most people associate with traditional boudoir. All women are incredible and I love photographing them in a soft and natural way that showcases their loveliness and just how amazing they are.  To see more from this feminine boudoir session and get an idea of the types of images that are possible head on over to Brittany Lauren Photography’s blog today!

Last month I hosted a Vintage Valentine’s Boudoir marathon and it was so much fun! I love doing something a little different now and then. The wonderful Tracy Amos, owner of Classic Vintage Rentals loaned me some beautiful furniture for the week! I wish I could have all of this gorgeous antique furniture in my studio all the time! It was so nice to “freshen” up the place for a little while. Hair and makeup was done by the talented Bri Ellis, owner of Portland Makeup and Hair. Check out the entire Vintage Boudoir Photoshoot here.

Curvy Bridal Boudoir

Wow, I had such a blast photographing boudoir for this beautiful bride to be! She had some really great ideas and she was so natural and easy to photograph. I love how open she was with letting me use her images online. She thought it was really important for other curvy girls to see her images and know that any woman can do something like this! A couple of months ago I teamed up with the fabulous Cassandra Kennedy to put together a stylized intimate portrait session so women could see that boudoir doesn’t have to be Victoria Secret, overtly sexy, or contrived. I’m so passionate about making images that show how feminine, soft, and beautiful women are and I think this elegant boudoir session definitely portrayed those things.

I’ve just started doing fine art intimate portraiture and am absolutely LOVING it! Intimate portraiture focuses more on softness and femininity, not being overtly sexy or contrived. The goal is to simply create lovely and elegant images that have an overall intimate feel to them. Check out the misconceptions about a boudoir shoot and the differences between boudoir and my intimate portrait sessions. ALSO A HOLIDAY SPECIAL, YAY!

The new studio has been coming together quite nicely and I’ve been doing a lot of practice portrait sessions in it to really get comfortable with the layout and the light at different times of day–which is MAGICAL!

A couple of weeks ago I photographed the oh-so-lovely Lacie in the studio and all I can think when looking at the images is how extremely happy I am to have such an awesome space to photograph in when weather isn’t perfect or I’m just wanting to change up the scenery. I could literally shoot there all day and never get bored!

I’m SO glad I got for photograph this stunning woman! We did her boudoir photoshoot just about a week before she competed in the Emerald Cup. She placed third in the Bikini competition! We had so much fun with her shoot. I absolutely loving doing glam photoshoots with athletes — it’s really awesome be able to see that softer romantic side come out.
