Jason - Kim did an absolutely incredible job at our rehearsal dinner (mehndi) and wedding. She took many amazing shots, while being very unobtrusive. We didn’t realize how well she captured the events until we saw the photos. We especially appreciated the hard work she did after the event to bring the best out of the photos.ReplyCancel

Bonnie Lackey, PSAV ( - Kim, you did an amazing job photographing our gala with Liverpool Legends at the Red Lion on the River. Your ability to shoot in difficult conditions – stage lighting, large seated audience, your photos were fabulous. I also appreciate your ability to be discreet and not bother our audience or entertainers. Thank you again for an amazing job and we look forward to hiring you again.ReplyCancel

Sara & Corky - Kim, I have to admit that I was concerned that the rain would make us look soggy but I needn’t worry. Your skill brought out the color, motion and spirit. Thank you for such beautiful pictures.ReplyCancel

Sam H. - Kim did a maternity shoot for us, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Kim is both approachable and professional, and she has a great eye for detail. She was glad to take the kinds of pictures that we were interested in and made great suggestions along the way. Kendall R. - What is there to say about Kim’s photos other than Wow!! I contacted Kim one week before my wedding and she was a god send. She got back to me promptly and always answered my questions completely. The day of my wedding she captured everything I wanted and then some. I can not wait to book her for another shoot. Even my husband (who was not big on hiring a photographer) said at the end of the day “I’m glad she was there.” I will be able to show these pictures to my grandchildren. I am beyond pleased with my pictures and they will look beautiful hanging in my home. Thank you can not express how thankful I am for Kim capturing my wedding day.ReplyCancel

Cara F. - After hearing about Kim through afriend, I decided I had to get some doggie photos for myself! I met Kim at a picturesque park – a perfect green grassy backdrop for any doggie photo. Kim introduced herself and was nothing but smiles and friendly. She frequently snapped shots during our photo session, sure not to miss a moment. Later, when anticipated, I received my photos and they are great! Kim’s editing and vintage-like photos really made all the difference in the quality of each photos. Kim delivered on this one!ReplyCancel

Angela E. - In Portland sunshine and dry days are an infrequent and uncertain thing. When the weather forecast included an unexpected nice fall day, on a weekend our eldest daughter was visiting, I quickly tried to find a photographer to take our family photos. I found Kim at Cat’s Cradle Photography. My request was last minute and about 20 miles from Portland. Kim was responsive, friendly, and flexible — and we’d never met! She invested extra time to go with us to a second (nearby) location that my daughters were excited about and I was so glad she did because some of my favorite photos were from there! I would have gladly recommended Kim at that point and then she really went above and beyond, processing the photos in what felt like seconds, and I had a CD of the images in less than a week. I wholeheartedly recommend Kim at Cat’s Cradle Photography [now Studio Varnika].ReplyCancel

Candace S. - Back when we lived in TX, Kim met up with my husband and 4 month old son during Austin’s hottest summer for some family portraits by the skyline before we moved to Virginia. Even at 7pm, it was still in the high 90’s and that made for one cranky baby and sweaty adults. I was thrilled when I saw the results that she actually captured my son smiling and we didn’t look like we were melting! Kim was very professional and was also flexible to accommodate the shots I was looking for. Before I had my son, my husband and I got maternity portraits and he had commented that Kim was not bossy like our other photographer. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking to get photos taken!ReplyCancel

Virginia R. - A friend recommended Kim to us to get maternity pictures at the very end of my pregnancy. She came over with very short notice and just a few days before she left the country for her own wedding! Needless to say, we were very appreciative. She was really easy to work with, and made lots of suggestions for different kinds of shots, all of which turned out really well. She was patient with my slow movements and with my husband and stepson, and found ways to bring the three (four!) of us together in beautiful pictures. The turnaround to get our pictures also was very quick, and the quality of the photos is high. I would recommend her to anyone looking to capture a special moment! –Virginia R.ReplyCancel

Alison F. - We are so happy that Kim came to our wedding in November 2011 both as our friend and as our photographer. We knew we were in good hands and trusted that she would beautifully photograph our important moments. She has a calming, relaxed, cheerful presence as a photographer and gives helpful directions. I’m more comfortable being behind the camera than in front of it, so it was a relief to be given some pointers. Kim is also completely non-intrusive and captures moments without you realizing a photograph is being taken. She fully photographed each of our three wedding events. In all, she took photographs with elegant, graceful framing. The colors are vibrant. For our evening shots, there is a great warmth exuding from the photographs. The beach shots are happy and she has given them a nostalgic quality that makes them feel timeless. We are so grateful to have these photographs to forever remind us of our wedding.ReplyCancel

Carrie - I can’t express enough about the excellent photos that Kim has took of my Siberian cat, Lazar. Kim took her time in getting to know Lazar a bit, had an instant bond with Lazar and then the photo shoot itself was flawless. Due to Lazar’s comfort with Kim, he was so himself and she was able to bring true personality of him in every single photo. The little details and colors of Lazar has been brought out (popped) through Kim’s work that was extremely impressive because I could not even see that with my own eyes. It was way beyond my exceptions, I cannot ask for more!ReplyCancel

Maggie - Working with Kim was truly a delight. She was prompt, relaxed, professional, and flexible to the timing of our event. Kim was able to capture our ceremony and reception artfully without being intrusive and the family and bridal party portraits moved quickly and easily giving everyone ample time to relax before the party started. Kim’s demeanor kept us feeling comfortable and relaxed and the photos came out beautifully!ReplyCancel

Link Family - We cannot thank Kim enough for the amazing photographs she captured of our family of five! She was patient and extremely professional, including being “on-call” for the arrival of our newest member who was only 5 days old on the day of the shoot. Thanks to her advice and patience, she made photographing two kids and a newborn seem easy! Also, after baby arrived in Dec., she quickly finished up the prints so we could include them on our holiday card and birth announcements. The photos were beyond our expectations and we will cherish them always.ReplyCancel
